The recent post of Indian wicketkeeper, left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant’s recent social media post has triggered speculations about his departure from DC (Delhi Capitals) before the beginning of the IPL (Indian Premier League) season of 2025.
Undoubtedly, the year 2024 has proven to be fortunate enough for Rishabh Pant, as the Indian wicket-keeper batsman made a strong comeback after sustaining a horrifying accident in December 2022.

Recently, in an interview, Parth Jindal, the co-owner of Delhi Capitals stated that the Delhi Capitals have many wonderful players to be retained. However, the final list has not been announced as it will have to be discussed with Sourav Ganguly, the DOC (Director of Cricket).
Parth Jindal has confirmed that Rishabh Pant will certainly be retained in the Delhi Capitals team for IPL 2025. And, Jindal made this statement after many speculations were circulating about Rishabh Pant joining other franchises, especially the CSK (Chennai Super Kings).
Therefore, one thing is assured after Parth Jindal’s statement where he focused on saying that Rishabh Pant will be the first-choice retention for Delhi Capitals and further highlighted his valued importance to the franchise.

Despite, some fans being joyed to see Rishabh Pant’s availability in the market, there are some of those fans who couldn’t believe in his casual social media post. As such, news is being shared on social media by a player himself so casually.
Also, fans had speculated in this post that Rishabh Pant has made up his mind to part ways with Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2025. However, the grand IPL mega auction is set to begin by November 2024 or the maximum delay could be by December of this year.
Here is what Rishabh Pant posted on his official X handle, saying: “During the auction, would I be sold or not? And if yes, then for how much?”
A few fans even responded with a sense of humor to their reply and asked him to stay in the team saying: “Absolutely YES! You might be sold for maybe 15 to 20 crores, but it is recommended that you stay with Delhi Capitals as you are their brand!”
Also, some of them suggested saying: “Maybe! The stadium and the pitches suit you well and Delhi Capitals fans are not toxic so you would be able to perform well without any pressure. So it is recommended that you should not be greedy, and you have to learn from Hardik Pandya what he faced this year in the IPL 2024. Rishabh Pant’s Salary Increase Expected for IPL 2025
At present, till the IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant’s salary was INR 16 Crore. However, it is expected that the figure would surge based on the overall purse value of the players allowed to a franchise and the retention fee rules fixed by the BCCI.

One of his recent posts about the auction and his pay raised eyebrows amongst fans and spectators. And, especially, the timing of his post was the major reason for such speculation. Soon after Parth Jindal confirmed Rishabh’s retention, the player posted on his official X account late at midnight, which sparked controversies amongst the netizens.
