India’s Biggest Competitor and Deepti Sharma’s Reply
When Deepti Sharma was asked to mention a team that is India’s biggest competitor, she replied saying:
“Of course! All teams have been doing their best and in a sport like cricket, we cannot and must not take any team for granted. According to us (women’s cricket team), we follow the same kind of approach against all the other teams. Therefore, we never focus on one specific team, feeling they are the biggest competitor. Because in cricket, we can never assume or calculate who would shine at which moment. Earlier during the previous 2 editions, we gave our best but still lost to Australia. But this time, we (women’s cricket team) are well-prepared and would look forward to defeating them and winning the World Cup 2024 trophy.”
Deepti Sharma about WPL’s popularity
We all know that IPL (Indian Premier League) is one of the cash-rich leagues and honor of India. It is enjoyed by each one of us and similarly, Deepti Sharma expressed how happy they felt about having positive changes in Women’s cricket.
She said: “YES! Now many people have started following us, and undoubtedly it is because of the World Cup performances and Women’s Premier League. Back in the day, we used to watch the IPL auctions of men’s teams, and now we really feel grateful that it is happening for us too. WPL has been constantly evolving, and we are delighted with the changes happening. One of the unforgettable moments I would say is when we all were in the same room during the auction, cheering each other.”
